American singer and actor Jamie Foxx has provided his first public update since dealing with a health scare that hospitalised him for about one week.

JAMIE FOXX SPEAKS OUT

While filming his up-and-coming Netflix movie Back in Action in April this year, Jamie Foxx experienced an unexpected medical complication that resulted in him being rushed to hospital, according to Men’s Health.

In a candid and emotional video shared to his Instagram the 55-year-old star revealed that he has “been to hell and back”.

Holding back his tears, Jamie gives fans an update on his health.

“First of all, I want to say thank you to everybody that just prayed man and sent me messages. I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back”, Foxx shared.

‘I’M ON MY WAY BACK!’

While the actor hasn’t revealed what exactly his health complication was, he has however extended gratitude to his sister Deidra Dixon and daughter, Corrine Foxx for saving his life.

“I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way and you know, they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out. They protected me. And that’s what I hope everyone could have in the moments like these”, Jamie Foxx shared.

The actor also shared that despite dealing with concerned fans and friends, he didn’t want people to see him connected to medical tubes.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that man … I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through,” he said.

Foxx also added that he went to “hell and back” and that his “road to recovery has some potholes as well”.

In closing Jamie reminds fans that he is on his way back.

“I’m here on Earth because of some great people. I’m here because of God. I love ya’ll! I’m on my way back!”.
